The Care Inspectorate recently advised that a joint statement on PPE for carers has been issued by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), Scottish Care, The Royal College of General Practitioners, the Queen’s Nursing Institute for Scotland and the Royal College of Nursing. The statement raises awareness of a group of individuals who regularly and on an ongoing basis cough and who therefore present potential risks to carers. It also sets out a straightforward, immediately available system whereby SLTs and other key professionals can and will “officially” identify individuals as being potentially high risk Covid-19 transmitting patients. You can read the full statement here.
Notification of such individuals may be made via a quickly and easily recognisable pro-forma which can be viewed here.
