Last year, I blogged about the great Learning Week we enjoyed within Iriss https://www.iriss.org.uk – who host and support my role. This year it was scheduled for this week, but two storms on the trot made getting together on Monday and Wednesday too tricky, because of travel disruption. We did have a brilliant session on Tuesday in Stirling and an on-line session on Wednesday – but I suspect we will have to pick up bits and pieces in Team Meetings. Iriss do some absolutely brilliant work – if you don’t know them or haven’t had a recent update on their work, check out their website at: https://www.iriss.org.uk You can also register to receive their Newsletter at: https://iriss.us1.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=e34540dba79aceffd0e82ca00&id=8049a3360b

It is almost time for National ASP Awareness Day again – this year it is on Tuesday 20th February. Watch out for information on the dual focus for this year of general ASP awareness and Sextortion scams. If you have access to any networks who would find a short video on ASP general awareness and/or Sextortion – please make use of the videos developed by the National ASP Communications Group, which you can access on the NASPC website at: https://naspc.scot

Where space allows on social media, please use the hashtags #ASPD2024 and #SeenSomethingSaySomething

You may have attended our very first ASPire event in November 2023 – as promised, the keynote speeches from this session were recorded and can now be accessed from the NASPC website at: https://naspc.scot The first speaker was Ann Haynes who talked about the links and gaps between Adult Support and Protection and MARAC (Multi-agency Risk Assessment Conferences) and other elements of the Violence Against Women networks. The second speaker was Frances Toland who explored ways in which we might embed a Trauma Informed Approach within Adult Support and Protection processes. These can be accessed here: https://naspc.scot

Have a great Burns Night!
